One developer reads every message. It helps to say which Apple Watch you have, which session you were on, and what you expected to happen instead.

Common questions

Do I need my iPhone with me?

No. The plan and every session live on the watch, and a workout starts, runs and saves with your phone switched off. The iPhone app explains what the watch is doing — why today's session, what this week is for, what race day looks like — and catches up when your phone is nearby.

I can't do today's session.

Swipe up from today's session to Can't do this one? You can swap it for something else or skip it. Nothing gets stacked onto another day, and the plan tells you plainly what the swap changes.

I missed a session, or ended one early.

Both are fine. Ending early still counts. A missed session is never piled onto another day: if it was a key session, the plan may move it to a rest day later that week and tell you why; otherwise the week is just lighter. There are no streaks to break.

My race date changed.

Scroll down from today's session to the page that shows your week and phase, and tap Change race date. This rebuilds the whole plan around the new date.

The screen stopped responding during a swim.

That is water lock, and it is deliberate: it stops splashes from tapping buttons. To unlock, press and hold the Digital Crown. Swim sessions are coached with taps you feel, so you don't need the screen in the water.

Heart rate isn't showing.

The session keeps going without it and coaches you on time and effort instead. Wearing the watch snugly, above the wrist bone, usually brings it back. If it never appears, check that heart rate is allowed in the Watch app under Privacy → Health.

My workout isn't in the Fitness or Health app.

If Apple Health refuses a workout, the finish screen says Saved here, but Health didn't take it — the session still counts in your plan. Check the permissions in the Health app on iPhone under Sharing → Apps, or in the Watch app under Privacy → Health.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Workouts already written to Apple Health stay there until you delete them from the Health app. The privacy policy has the details.

A note on health

This is a training tool, not a medical device, and it gives no medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a training programme, especially if you have a heart condition, chest pain, dizziness, or an injury that changes how you move.
